🚀 Getting Started

How to Sign Up

  1. 1 Download Illastratum from the App Store
  2. 2 Open the app and tap "Sign Up"
  3. 3 Choose your sign-up method:
    • Sign in with Apple - Quick and secure using your Apple ID
    • Email Sign Up - Create an account with your email address
  4. 4 Create your username (this will be visible to other users)
  5. 5 Set up your profile by adding:
    • Profile picture
    • Bio or description
    • Favorite book genres
  6. 6 Start exploring and connecting with other readers!
💡 Tip: Using "Sign in with Apple" provides enhanced privacy and security, and you won't need to remember another password!

📱 Using the App

Creating Posts

  1. Tap the Create Post button on the home screen
  2. Enter your book title and select the genre
  3. Write your thoughts, review, or quote
  4. Optionally add an image by tapping the camera icon
  5. Tap "Post" to share with your friends

Joining and Creating Groups

  1. Navigate to the Groups tab
  2. To join a group:
    • Search for groups by name or browse recommendations
    • Tap on a group to view details
    • Tap "Join Group" to send a request
  3. To create a group:
    • Tap "Create Group"
    • Choose a unique group name
    • Add a description
    • Set privacy (Public or Private)
    • Upload a group image (optional)

Interacting with Posts

  • Like/Dislike: Tap 😊 or 😢 to react to any post
  • Comment: Tap "Comment" to add your thoughts
  • For Group Posts Only:
    • ⬆️ Adds to conversation - The post contributes value to the discussion
    • ⬇️ Detracts from conversation - The post reduces discussion quality
  • Report: Tap ⚠️ to report inappropriate content

Managing Friends

  1. Search for friends using the search bar
  2. Tap on a user's profile to view their information
  3. Tap "Add Friend" to send a friend request
  4. Accept or decline requests in your notifications
  5. View your friends list in the Friends tab

Using AI Image Generation

  1. Copy text from your current book
  2. When creating a post, tap "Build Image with Copied Text"
  3. Add a purpose for the image (what you want it to convey)
  4. Add a minimum of 3 influences (artistic styles, themes, or references)
  5. Tap "Generate Image Preview"
  6. Select your preferred AI model (OpenAI DALL-E, Stable Diffusion, or DeepAI)
  7. Generate your image and preview the result
  8. If you don't like it, you can regenerate (additional credits will be charged)
  9. Tap "Use This Image" to add it to your post
💡 Pro Tips:
  • • Choose meaningful text from your book that captures the essence you want to visualize
  • • Be specific with your purpose and influences for better results
  • • Different AI models have different strengths - experiment to find your favorite
  • • Remember that regenerating costs additional credits
  • • Check your credit balance in your profile before generating images
  • • Your transaction history shows all your image generations

Managing Your Subscription and Usage

  • View credit balance: Check your profile to see current credits remaining
  • Transaction history: Review all image generations in your transaction history
  • Billing period: Credits reset based on your subscription renewal date, not calendar months
  • Upgrade anytime: Change your subscription tier in Settings → Subscription
  • Purchase add-ons: Buy additional credits if you run out before renewal
📅 Important: Your subscription uses billing period-based credit resets. This means your credits renew on the same day each month as your initial subscription date. For example, if you subscribed on January 21st, your credits will reset on the 21st of each month.

🔧 Troubleshooting

Common Issues

  • Can't log in:
    • Check your internet connection
    • Verify your email/password
    • Try "Forgot Password" if needed
    • For Apple Sign In issues, check your Apple ID settings
  • Images not loading:
    • Check your internet connection
    • Pull down to refresh the screen
    • Try closing and reopening the app
  • AI image generation fails:
    • Check if you have enough image generation credits remaining
    • Verify your subscription is active in Settings
    • Try a different prompt or AI provider
    • Ensure your prompt follows content guidelines
